The Olive Tree
The Olive Tree is an initiative of Southland Church that began back in 2010 in the iconic ‘Original School House of Batemans Bay’. This venue soon became an Art Hub for the town and a great gathering space for all sorts of community and social events, as well as being a place that was known for its acceptance of all people.
9 years later, it is a privileged to be able to launch the ‘New’ Olive Tree. A beautiful new multi purpose facility that provides common ground between the Church and the Community.
Though the facility is owned and run by Southland Church, the culture of this place offers the sense of ownership to the community and to all who are looking for a place to feel welcomed and accepted.
The Building Journey
The 2 scriptures that the Lord identified to us regarding the building of this new facility are from Ezekiel 40 and Joshua 17.
These scriptures talk specifically about clearing 2 parcels of land and building a house for the Lord that is on a high hill, north of the city and positioned at a gateway entrance. The facility we’re are currently completing is exactly that, in a prominent position in the Bay Ridge Estate at the intersection of the Kings Hwy and the Princes Hwy, North Batemans Bay.
The Olive Tree Community Play Ground
